Materials
I strive to use quality materials purchased from reputable vendors. All of my jewelry is lead and nickel free. All bangles, chains, and findings are stainless steel. The blanks/pendants that I hand stamp are made of stainless steel or aluminum. Stainless steel and aluminum will not rust or tarnish. All charms are made of silver zinc alloy or bronze alloy. Silver zinc alloy charms are frequently referred to as "Tibetan Silver," although these charms are not true Tibetan Silver and contain no silver content. Please contact me with any questions regarding any materials used.
Caring for Your Jewelry
Metals can be affected by a variety of factors including moisture/exposure to water, lotions, perfumes, cleaners, skin oils, sweat, and other chemicals and substances. It is always a good idea to wipe or clean jewelry after wearing. Additionally, it is not suggested that your jewelry be worn in the water, shower, or where it may be exposed to chemical cleaners.
Using a microfiber or jewelry polishing cloth is an excellent way to keep your jewelry looking new. Consider investing in a jewelry cloth if you do not own one.
Stainless Steel and Aluminum
While these metals do not tarnish or rust, they can scratch, dull, or stain. Both can be easily cleaned with warm water and a mild dishwashing soap. Use a soft, lint free cloth to gently clean your jewelry. To add shine, use a jewelry polishing cloth. Take care when storing your jewelry to avoid scratches.
Please Note- The lettering on hand stamped blanks/pendants is darkened with inks and/or waxes. These inks/waxes may fade or be washed away over time, so please take care when cleaning or washing!
Charms
Silver zinc-alloy and bronze alloy metals can tarnish and change color. This can occur quickly or over several months, based on a variety of factors. This process can be slowed by wiping your jewelry after wear to remove skin oils, sweat and other substances. Also, avoid moist or wet conditions- moisture quickly tarnishes charms.
There are many methods used to remove tarnish from most silver zinc alloy charms. All of these methods are easily researched online. One common method uses a non-gel toothpaste or baking soda to create a paste. Take a soft-bristled brush and gently scrub the tarnish with a lathered paste. Once clean, rinse and dry thoroughly. Other methods use lemon juice or vinegar to clean charms and metals. It is advised that you research any method before trying it.
You should clean charms as soon as you see any signs of tarnish. To add shine, use a jewelry polishing cloth. If your charm has a patina, or blackened spots to highlight detail, please be careful when cleaning. Using the cleaning methods described may remove the patina finish.
Alcohol Ink Pendants
Even though pendants are sealed, certain alcohol based products (perfumes, gel sanitizers, hair products, etc.) may wear away the sealer and the ink if the pendant comes in contact with them. Additionally, pendants are water resistant but not waterproof, so please remove before bathing, showering, or swimming.
